Brazil is the world's largest sugar producer.  Unfortunately, in some regions, the harvest is still manual, with thousands of hard working people, with a very low minimum wage.  They wake up early in the morning and stop working at late afternoon, under extreme heat. In this picture I captured a bunch of burned sugar cane, waiting to be taken to the sugar mills. The picture was taken in January 2010.
